European reseach Export Credits and Arms Trade – juli 2007

European governments provide insurances for the export to economical of political instable countries. In a common research in 11 countries the European Network Against Arms Trade (ENAAT) exposes how all over Europe about one third of all export credits is used for military exports, often at the expense of other kinds of products.

With the support of public money, the European defense industry can export its deadly products to poor or instable countries which otherwise would not be creditworthy. As a consequense, many of these countries build up huge debts to the arms industry and European banks.
